CURRENT VENTURES
Presently, I am expanding my graphic design business. For the past several years I have not pursued new business or accounts. With my fourth child on the way, I am looking to focus most of my work time at home, in order to be with my family more often. I intend to spend most of my time designing brochures, business cards, brochures, and websites. However, I will need to be increasing my workflow. In the near future, I will be spending less time in computer training and sales, and more time in design. One exciting new aspect of my work is Finest Moments, LLP. I've partnered with a photographer in the Cleveland area to produce truly unique wedding albums. It has already gotten great feedback, and Mat (my partner) is scheduled for several weddings this summer.
OVERVIEW OF CREDENTIALS
My passion for creative design began in college in the media arts department of the University of Montana. At that time, I bought my first computer (the original Imac). Once I had that, my creativity flourished at the expense of my eyeballs. I soon got a side job for an advertising and marketing company, creating promotional materials. However, the slow workflow allowed me to also get freelance work from a young software developer as well. In 1999, I took a job with Kinkos corporation. This job provided me with outstanding knowledge of a wide variety of technology and an expertise in nearly all of the adobe programs. I also was able to gain practical experience in nearly all aspects of graphic design. While working here, Finest Designz was born in the evenings of 1999. From Kinkos, I took a job as graphic designer for a major newspaper. Here I gained knowledge of print seperations and focused more on advertising campaigns. My ability in programs like Quark, Illustrator, and InDesign was greatly increased during this period. Next, I moved into a position as advertising executive at the newspaper. In this position, I learned how to be valuable to a client and the value of good advertising and marketing. After about a year in this position, I tested the waters of management. I took a job as general manager of a flooring company. Yes...a flooring company. A good experience it has been in running and operating a successful company from top to bottom. One problem; although matching taupe walls to beige floors takes coordination, the creativity began to itch. Now, I want to use my creativity and credentials to make you say "Wow!" My developement as a graphic designer has been due to the wide variety of programs I've been exposed to, as well as a desire to always be the best. I'm confident with any type of graphic design project you have to offer. Creativity and Credentials is what makes a good graphic designer. Please view my portfolio at www.finestdesignz.com as evidence of each.
